This 18-lesson painting class gives high school students a practical foundation in the elements and principles of design through artist studies and original projects. Each lesson connects a design concept to a specific artwork, then guides students through a painting project with clear step-by-step directions and a video tutorial. Students will build technical confidence while learning how artists use line, color, value, texture, space, balance, contrast, movement, and other visual tools to communicate ideas. The course is designed for a supportive studio setting where students can develop their own artistic voice. Also included in the course: email & live online meeting assistance (with appointment), live online weekly group meetings to share artwork and ideas, private class group chat to share ideas, ask questions and get help with projects.
