This 18-lesson drawing class gives high school students a practical foundation in the elements and principles of design through artist-inspired projects. Each lesson connects a design concept to a notable artwork, then guides students through a drawing process they can adapt to their own ideas. Students will build observational, compositional, and expressive drawing skills while working with line, shape, value, color, texture, space, balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, and unity. Every project includes a video tutorial that supports independent practice and classroom learning. Also included in the course: email & live online meeting assistance (with appointment), live online weekly group meetings to share artwork and ideas, private class group chat to share ideas, ask questions and get help with projects.
